Clucky Alarm App Uses Rooster Crow and Challenges to Help Users Wake Up

2 min read

A new iPhone alarm app called Clucky offers a unique approach to waking up by combining a rooster crow sound with interactive challenges. Designed for users who struggle to get out of bed, Clucky requires completing various tasks before the alarm can be turned off. The app stands out by allowing users to choose a rooster crow as their wake-up sound, alongside more traditional options like gentle chimes, bird songs, or digital beeps. An "Extra Loud Mode" is also available to increase volume immediately when the alarm sounds. Clucky’s wake-up missions include solving math problems, memorizing sequences, typing dictated phrases, shaking the phone, walking, doing push-ups, tilting a virtual ball, and completing AI-based camera challenges. These tasks are intended to fully engage users and prevent them from simply dismissing the alarm and returning to sleep. The app also features a detailed statistics section that tracks metrics such as the average time taken to complete missions, total missions completed, and overall wake-up count. Users receive a weekly "Rooster Report" that evaluates their wake-up performance. Additionally, Clucky allows users to form private groups called "Nests" or "Flocks" with friends or family. These groups enable synchronized wake-up times and mutual accountability. Founded by Adrian Angelo Abelarde, a former software engineer at Fanatics, Clucky is currently available on the App Store. The app offers a pro subscription for $39.99 per year, providing additional features and customization options.
