JetKVM has unveiled the JetKVM Mini, a compact and budget-friendly version of its remote keyboard-video-mouse (KVM) device. The new Mini comes in two variants: a wired model with Ethernet priced at $39 and a wireless model, JetKVM Mini W, at $42. When purchased in packs of three, prices drop to $33 and $36 per unit respectively.

Housed in a small aluminum case measuring 42 by 42 by 23 millimeters, roughly the size of a matchbox, the JetKVM Mini retains the core functions of the original JetKVM. It supports native video capture at 1080p resolution, with up to 4K available through JetKVM OS Services, and provides USB keyboard and mouse control. Users access the device through the same web interface and cloud platform as the full-sized JetKVM.

The wired Mini model includes an RJ45 Ethernet port, allowing straightforward connection to the target computer. Users connect video, USB, and Ethernet cables, then access the device’s IP address via a browser. The wireless Mini W replaces the Ethernet port with dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 and 5 GHz) and Bluetooth for setup, making it suitable for machines located where cabling is impractical.

JetKVM redesigned the Mini from the ground up to focus on essential KVM functions—video capture, USB control, virtual media mounting, and reliable network connectivity—even when the target machine is offline. This simplification allowed the use of an ESP32-P4X microcontroller with hardware H.264 encoding, eliminating the need for more complex Linux-based hardware.

The Mini captures video at 1080p at 30 frames per second or 720p at 60 fps, streaming via WebRTC to browsers. The wireless model adds an ESP32-C5 chip supporting Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth LE. Two USB ports are included: one USB 2.0 High Speed port connects to the target computer for keyboard, mouse, and virtual media functions, while the other USB 2.0 Full Speed port supports extensions and can serve as a secondary power input or USB host.

Firmware for the Mini is newly developed for the ESP32-P4X and will be open source. It maintains compatibility with existing JetKVM protocols, enabling familiar features such as text paste, keyboard layouts, virtual media from ISO files on a TF card, cloud access, Wake-on-LAN, MQTT integration, and over-the-air updates with rollback.

Upcoming JetKVM OS Services will enhance the Mini’s capabilities with up to 4K screen capture, shared clipboard, guest terminal, and file transfer. The device also supports secure boot, allowing users to lock the firmware to JetKVM-signed versions for improved security.

The JetKVM Mini models will be available starting October 26, 2026, through authorized resellers.
