TikTok has announced new features designed to make its comment sections more interactive. The platform is introducing voice comments, comment polls, photo carousel comments, and Live Photo comments to encourage deeper engagement among users. Voice comments allow users to record audio messages up to one minute long by tapping a microphone icon in the comment box. These audio comments can be listened to by anyone viewing the video. TikTok has confirmed that voice comments will adhere to the platform’s Community Guidelines, with content moderation handled through a combination of automated tools and human review, including speech-to-text transcription. This feature will be available globally over the next month for users aged 18 and older. In addition, creators can now add polls to their own videos, enabling viewers to vote on up to five options within a set timeframe. This feature, previously limited to some users, is now accessible worldwide. Polls can be used for various purposes such as deciding on future content or other interactive decisions. TikTok is also expanding photo comment capabilities by allowing users to include up to nine photos in a single comment, an increase from the previous limit of one. Furthermore, Live Photo comments, which provide a brief motion preview before displaying the full image, are now available globally. These updates reflect TikTok’s effort to transform comment sections from simple feedback areas into engaging spaces where users can interact more creatively and meaningfully.
