Besxar Plans Orbital Semiconductor Manufacturing Using SpaceX Falcon 9 Boosters
Besxar, a startup founded by former OpenAI engineer Ashley Pilipiszyn, is developing semiconductor manufacturing in orbit using SpaceX Falcon 9 boosters. By exploiting the vacuum of space, the company aims to produce cleaner semiconductor wafers without the need for costly terrestrial clean rooms. Besxar has raised $14 million to prototype its technology across multiple Falcon 9 flights, with plans to scale production as rocket launch costs decrease.
