The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has shared an update on its ongoing investigation into the runway excursion involving 21 Air Flight 7598, a Boeing 767-33A cargo aircraft, at Miami International Airport on September 6, 2026. Investigators recovered the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) and flight data recorder (FDR) from the accident site and successfully extracted data at the NTSB’s Vehicle Recorder Laboratory in Washington, DC. The CVR, manufactured by Acron Aviation, provided over two hours of high-quality audio across four channels, while the Ontic flight data recorder captured approximately 54 hours of flight data covering more than 400 parameters. The NTSB plans to convene a dedicated CVR review group to analyze the recordings and produce a detailed transcript. Preliminary summaries of key events from the final minutes of the flight have been compiled, though these remain subject to revision as the investigation progresses.
