The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has shared an update regarding its ongoing investigation into the runway excursion of 21 Air Flight 7598, a Boeing 767-33A cargo plane, which occurred on September 6, 2026, at Miami International Airport. The agency recovered the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) and flight data recorder (FDR) from the accident site and successfully extracted the data at its Vehicle Recorder Laboratory in Washington, DC. The CVR, an Acron Aviation FA2100 model, provided over two hours of high-quality audio across four channels, while the Ontic SSFDR flight data recorder contained approximately 54 hours of data covering more than 400 parameters. The NTSB plans to convene a group at its headquarters to analyze the CVR recordings and produce a detailed transcript. Preliminary summaries of key events from both recorders during the final minutes of the flight have been compiled, though the exact timing between the two devices has not yet been synchronized.
